After last weeks stacked card the UFC is on a bye week, but the rest of the world still needs to make money and luckily Bellator has scrapped together a card worthy of viewing. The event is in London but luckily for anyone that needs last minute beer money, I will guide you to riches with 10 minutes to spare before fight time.
Cheick Kongo (-275) vs. Augusto Sakai (+195): In a heavyweight contest Kongo takes on Sakai in a matchup of washed up UFC gatekeeper versus a hot up and coming can crusher. Despite his age and experience Kongo has not lost a step. He is still the enormously intimidating black man with no skills whatsoever that he was in his UFC days. Sakai is 9-0-1 with 7 wins coming by Knockout. He has beat pretty much everyone you see standing outside your local MMA gym that “trains UFC”. With everything said, you would have to be out of your mind to take Kongo at -275 versus Ronda Rousey never mind a male. Kongo’s chin has never been good, and age doesn’t help the cause. Take your chances with Sakai landing a bomb at +195.
Liam McGeary (-210) vs. Linton Vassell (+160): At light heavyweight 6’6″ McGeary takes on 6’4″ Vassell. Although both men are enormous for 205, McGeary is the only one that possesses any talent. McGeary’s only loss is to Phil Davis, which is respectable. Otherwise, he has finished all but 1 opponent. Vassell sums up Bellator in a nutshell, average as they come. He is likely mistaken more often for the WWF’s fierce bodyguard Virgil than he is an MMA fighter. I would love to see McGeary get a shot versus real competition in the UFC, but for now I will take him at -210. It might not be a bad idea to take a prop on McGeary winning by KO/TKO.
Rory MacDonald (-310) vs. Paul Daley (+240): Rory is an elite fighter, Daley sucks dick, it’s as simple as that. Rory should be -5000 in this one. I would still take him at -5000. There is no way on earth Daley can win. He looks like a sun dried ninja turtle but fights like April. His stand up doesn’t translate to MMA, he only knocks out jujitsu guys, and he hasn’t had a real fight since he fought a young Tyron Woodley in 2011. Risk the money now on MacDonald -310 and thank me later.
Fuck it, parlay them all as well there is no way they lose.
