J-Man’s Quickpicks: TUF 25 Finale

Welcome to another edition of Quick Picks brought to you by the one and only brainiac that contributes to this website, yours truly, J-Man. I’m not big in the betting game. It has nothing to do with my financial instability, student loans, or confidence in my picks. It’s more to do with what I could use the hundreds or thousands of dollars that I would wager. Think about the McDoubles at stake if I was to lose. If you are a betting man or woman though, you will soon realize that my picks are mostly accurate, even down to the finish. Relevant fights only though, irrelevant fights need not apply.

The Ultimate Fighter Finale:

Michael Johnson (-165) vs. Justin Gaethje (+145)

To most this line is surprising. Gaethje is a great prospect from WSOF with an 17-0 record and Michael Johnson is a slightly above average fighter in the lightweight division. I think the jump in competition from WSOF to the UFC is something not to overlook. Michael Johnson TKO in round 2.

Marc Diakiese (-230) vs. Drakkar Klose (+210)

Either my app is broken, or vegas is drunk because Diakiese should be -2300. He is undoubtedly the next big thing in the lightweight division and Klose is being fed to him as someone that will help build his resume. Diakiese by TKO round 1.

Brad Tavares (-105) vs. Elias Theodorou (-105)

The line is essentially even, the fight is unlikely to excite, but holy hell is this a matchup between the two best looking fights in MMA? Wowza this has me confused. I have Elias Theodorou winning only because of that hair! Both these men come out in Shogun shorts and my night may finish early!

All other fights on this card need not apply, including Lima vs. Taylor. TUF sucks and so doesn’t this match-up.

If you choose to bet these 3 fights straight up and in a parlay it should give you enough money to really make some moves for UFC 213. Stay tuned as my quick picks for that card should be posted shortly.
