Coming off an absurd 131% ROI at UFC Long Island, we now move onto the Super Bowl of the 2017 MMA year with UFC 214. Some may argue that I am due to lose with how hot I have been lately, but those people are losers. Winners win, plain and simple. Sack up and jump on board the money train.
Jon Jones (Risking $280 to win $100): I apologize for inputting this like a moron, but in my defense I hardly ever pick favorites. I make profits through winning the hard to pick fights. I bet for the people on a normal bankroll. With that said, Jones is the one guy I will risk big money on.
Donald Cerrone (Risking $100 to win $135): It seems as if I am the lone man from MMA society in Cowboy’s corner at UFC 214. I like this matchup for him a lot. His big fight history can be a bit worrisome, but Lawler has more weaknesses here in my eyes. More questions, see my analysis from earlier this week: UFC 214 Main Card Analysis: Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone
Volkan Oezdemir (Risking $100 to win $160): As I’ve mentioned, I think Oezdemir slows Manuwa’s aggression with leg kicks. If Manuwa isn’t the aggressor, he is going to sleep. More questions: UFC 214 Main Card Analysis: Jimi Manuwa vs. Volkan Oezdemir
Flier Straight Pick:
Calvin Kattar (Risking $50 to win $157.5): I am not sold on Fili although his losses have been to great competition, with the exception of Pepey. Kattar is a tough fighter coming into this matchup with nothing to lose. Add in the fact he’s a replacement on short notice and the odds make sense here for a small play.
Jones by Submission (Risking $25 to win $107.75): I hardly ever go big on props, it is hard enough to pick a winner, never mind how they will do it. I see Jones winning the standup battle for 2-3 rounds. Later in the fight Cormier will be forced to attempt to wrestle. When this happens, Jones will use his superior ground skills to defend and eventually submit the current Champion.
Cerrone by Submission (Risking $25 to win $145): This matchup will be the battle we all hoped for in the beginning stages. I see this fight going to the ground at some point because I believe we will see a smart Cowboy tonight. He has 50% of his wins by way of submission, why not one more?
Oezdemir by TKO/KO (Risking $25 to win $66.25): I picked Oezdemir to win, if he wins, it has to be by TKO/KO. Thats that.
Woodley vs. Maia o2.5 Rounds (Risking $100 to win $112): I think this fight will be the worst of the night from an entertainment perspective. Woodley is the far superior striker, Maia is the far superior grappler. I believe for the first few rounds they will both do more to avoid the others strengths rather than assert their own. I see this fight going the distance most likely, but over 2.5 at plus money seems like #FreeMoney.
Thats all she wrote, look forward to counting cash with you guys tomorrow.
